I just took part in a poll sponsored by PBS. The poll asked the question, "Would you support more restrictive gun laws in your state?" I selected my answer, and clicked on [View Results], and was frankly amazed. Below is a screen capture of the results after my vote - 94.83% against more gun laws. If this doesn't prove that the current administration is out of touch on the issue of guns, I don't know what will. Here's the link for the poll, if anyone would care to take it. Ditto at 2345 today. Another 500ish votes and looks like the margin is holding. "Yes" is off another 0.01%.
And this response coming from a PBS sponsored poll.... amazing..... there is hope out there. Not that the .gov cares what the "people" want.... more it cares about the sheep following it's dictates....
That was my thought. I would have understood the results better, had the poll been conducted by Fox News, or the NRA, or a hunting and outdoors show. It is a fair assumption that most of the respondents to this poll are watchers of PBS programming; who, until now, I have always assumed to be predominantly liberal-minded. Shows what assuming will do for you. Seeing these results, you have to wonder who the "majority of Americans" are who are "demanding tougher action on guns," according to Feinstein and others in her camp. Apparently, she's only polling her aides.
We have to remember that this poll is about as unscientific as a poll can be. There's no prevention against voting multiple times, and we all know that the interested folks will do that --. It is a surprise, all the same, that there is such a large lopsided majority.
What is the true aim of these people... what is their end game? Don't give me that crap about society being safer with all the law abiding folks being disarmed... that is highly insulting to all of us. It is a minority of people, with buckets of cash and connections throughout government, screaming that we need to have gun control. They are disregarding the majority of American's opinions, views & our constitutional rights. I think that group consist of folks that are a very great danger to our nation.... with the intent to strip us of our ability to protect ourselves from the tyranny coming around the corner, nipping at the edges of our freedom...every day!! Most people see it and voice their concern of an over-reaching government... but they do nothing about it. While the rest of us are trying to live our lives that we have built for our families and to enjoy the fruits of our labor.... these people are working the system against us, slowly tightening the screw on our liberty. We need to pay attention and fight them at every effort they make.... Because if we continue to be lackadaisical about the threat... it will become a reality. When they start to load the boxcar's with people that do not agree with their socialist/tyrannical politics.... and shipping them off to FEMA camps for "re-education", it will be to late to to stop the demise of our freedom so many before us have fought, bled and died to earn, protect and pass down to our children...and their children. We each have a voice.... it needs to be heard continually. Do something about it, visit your lawmakers, attend town hall meetings, write letters, make phone calls, vote for constitutional minded advocates.... stand up and be heard by all. And just maybe we can make a difference..... but if we don't do anything and just sit in our corner and prepare for what may come.... we have invited that tyrannical danger to our doorstep just the same. Yet another poll whose results will never be used because it doesn't support the supposition that guns are evil.
@ghrit is 100% on target. That same link could've been posted on Ar15.com and other pro gun sites. I don't think it means much. But the proof is in the pudding, people buying guns on Black Friday damn near broke the FBI's background check computer. Do a search on "sample selection bias." And, just for the record, I don't really care if I'm in the minority or not concerning gun ownership. It's mathematics--soon, we will be in the minority . . . and there will still be an army of patriots saying "come and take it liberal scum."
