One of the police ranges where I get some of my brass has something similar. It sure saves on the back!

Works well in sandy soils. Not worth a poop in grass. (Yes, we know this ---)

We use pecan pickers at our USPSA matches. They work pretty good and you can dip them in a puddle to wash away the mud if it is wet.

I saw one of these in an ad for a brass picker the other day. I was all excited wanna get one so I tell the wife, "Hey I found this cool thing for picking up brass!" After looking at it she gives me one of her "You simple minded Yankee" looks and says "Yeah, that's a pecan picker.."

I want one, but 70 bux is the cheapest I can find one so far.

Update: While in Lowe's today I stumbled across the pecan picker Like the one in Sea's post for 28 dollars.
