My band-mate's church recycles plastic grocery bags into Plarn, or plastic yarn. They then weave the plarn into sleeping mats and distribute then to folks that need them to keep them off the ground at night (read: homeless). I just think this is a cool idea and wondered if anyone else has used this salvaged material in a productive manner.

Never heard about it, but here is a tutorial: How to Make Plarn - Plastic Yarn Tutorial

Naturally plastic bags will be banned in my State next year (bill passed, dictator signed) as eventually will be paper.
