Sometimes film adaptations kill a good story. The Postman The Postman - Wikipedia , and How I Won the War How I Won the War - Wikipedia both come to mind.

 

Oh, I get all that, it isn’t the greatest movie. My comment was a joke for OldDude which relates to the dog’s last line of the movie. If you didn’t make it to the movie’s end of course one wouldn’t get the joke.

I just watched Exploding Sun. Exploding Sun (TV Movie 2013) - IMDb It was really bad but one of those things you have to watch till the end. The movie is on Amazon Prime and is a two part TV show, not sure if you can call it a mini-series.

What I thought was interesting was one of the towns in the movie had an emergency plan. Yes, the emergency plan was to confiscate everyone's food, medicine, batteries etc.. Had me wondering if my town has an emergency plan. They also had a plan to seal off the town and they put young teens to man the roadblock. That didn't work well either.

 

thinkin there are probably many towns that have a similar plan in such a case... big question that comes to mind is...

who keeps n eye on them so called leaders and their personal followers?
