Suspected gang members were killed and set on fire in Haiti in an apparent act of vigilante justice, according to a report. The incident occurred in the town of Cite Soleil, which has been plagued by gang violence.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a group of men being attacked and set ablaze by a mob of residents who accused them of being gang members. The exact number of fatalities is unknown, but reports suggest that at least five people were killed.

The burned bodies were left in the streets as a warning to other gang members, according to local residents. The motive behind the attack appears to be retaliation against gangs who have terrorized the community for months.

Hilarious side note to this shitstorm
"The incident has sparked concern among human rights groups, who condemn acts of vigilante justice as illegal and dangerous. “Such actions only perpetuate a cycle of violence and do not address the root causes of crime,” said a spokesperson for Human Rights Watch."

Where there is no Government or cops, what's left? vigilante justice,

Yes, it's really easy to condemn vigilante justice, when you're hundreds or thousands of miles away, and NOT affected by the gangs in question. I wonder if they would feel the same, if the gangs were in their neighborhood??

That should have been happening here during the blm riots and burnings a few years back,,,

Even with Government and cops, vigilante justice thrives in a permissively conservative environment.

Vigilante "justice" can be a risky proposition...as these fellows found out....

Arbery's killers are presently appealing their convictions.

Vigilante "justice" tends to be arbitrary, risking the injury / death of innocent parties who are ensnared in mob violence by mistake, and may indeed amplify violence in a community, rather than diminish it.

Vigilante violence disproportionately harms marginalized communities: Researchers.

Isn't that the guy that went jogging in work boots and in an area where he didn't live?

And that was sufficient reason for a self appointed posse of armed men to take the law into their own hands??? Back in the day, I used to go jogging in army boots, sometimes in neighbourhoods where I didn't live.

Maybe not sufficient reason to kill him, but when you try to take a loaded shotgun away from someone, you're not smart enough to live!

And taking a loaded fire arm with them on a mission for which they had no authority, has demonstrated × 3 that the convicted felons were not smart enough to retain their liberty. Their community is just a tad safer for their now being resident in the grey bar hotel. Being convicted felons may limit their future lawful gun owning capabilities somewhat thank goodness.

But the "Summer of Love" George Floyd riots with over 20 dead and billions of dollars in property damage were perfectly justified, in your book. That too was a vigilante action.

Is this aimed at the OP?

Riots are not a vigilante action. They are destruction for the sake of destruction.
BTW - there was both a functioning "government" and police forces on site.
    They chose to do nothing.

This is as opposed to Haiti were they have neither a functioning government nor a legitimate police force. This has been the case for nearly a decade.

I did a google search for "flag was of a white baby with a pitch fork stabbed through it"... it brought up an image of this white dude: Colin Pitchfork. I don't think he is a Haitian.
