Troy built the machine using components bought for the build. The B&S engine is one of those bought. It will last forever if it's taken care of along the way. Without knowing the mfr of the generator end, there's not much to add, yet. It would be useful to know if it has a generator or alternator, too.

I have to say that the engine-generator looks exactly like my Sears machine, in fact, so does the frame and gas tank, right down to the wheels. If your question is whether or not it can take a propane conversion, I don't know ---. However, if it can, the power ratings have to be thrown out, it will handle a lot less load.

You will have to pretty much stand on your head to get the correct information.
90% of the time the tag is at the bottom of the front cowling.
The Ventura is the same size on the 10 Briggs American vs the metric Briggs
This is very important when ordering a kit, Basically one is American 1/4 threads and the metric I think is 4 mm threads
    That's the only real difference.

Did you know that a diesel engine can burn almost any flammable combustible fuel along with diesel fuel?
    Look up diesel intake fumigation.
They can run propane, natural gas, alcohol along with diesel fuel.
Running diesel engines off diesel fuel and a mixture of air and natural gas has been done since the 1930s.
    I wouldn't advise trying gasoline.

There is a Cummins engine plant just down the road from me that makes most if not all the spark ignition Cummins natural gas engines for the entire world.

I have seen that diesel engines can be built to use up to 95% natural gas.

Might also be worth noting that a 20lb propane tank is only equal to about 3 gallons of gasoline.
So unless you have at least several full hundred pound bottles (each one still only about 16 gallons worth of gasoline) or a 500 gallon tank it seems kind of pointless.
