Just a little video about what punk wood is and where can you find some...Not really advanced at all...just a simple 2 minute video.
As usual, good advice. In the South, dead pine trees have the smell of turpentine. Find a stump and kick it; if you smell turpentine, it burns easily and hot.
Nah, not every pine tree cut is lighter. oh, pine will burn much easier than say oak, and when green unseasoned no less, but it is not good to burn a lot of pine because it will coat your chimney with resin making it likely for a chimney fire. I have cut 6 to 10 inch diameter pine trees 4 to 6 foot off the ground when dropping them and in most cases ended up with an above ground piece of pine that was super loaded with resin. Whalla, instant fat wood starter. However, not always. I will have to cut a few more and note the season when cut. If guessing I would suggest the fat wood result happens if cut during the late spring early summer full on growing season. Some that I cut did not overflow with sap. ???
