I recently came into possession of a Glock 27.... and am wondering if anyone has seen or heard of a conversion Barrel, to 9MM? I have nothing for .40SW, but have everything for 9MM.... so, Just wondering.....

you might want to think replacing the ejector with a 9mm ejector as well, just to ensure total reliability.

The conversion barrel takes care of the location of the ejector. It is not a stock Glock barrel, but is slightly different to take into account the difference. I have conversion barrels for some of my Glock 17's and 23's, and the only problem I have with them is the chamber is a little tight in certain Lone Wolf barrels. Storm Lake barrels have worked flawlessly for me.

Just in case you didn't know, a Glock 27 magazine will work with 9mm without any problems, so you don't have to go out any buy extra magazines, either. 9mm also works in the 22 and the 23 magazines.

Im the Glock Armor for our Dept and for the most part they are the same just like the sping kits/ pins they only start to change a little when you get up to the 45acp. When you order the parts the description will say for glock 17,19,22,23, and so on. Thats what I like about glock parts are easy to get your hands on.

I have a 9mm conversion bbl for my G23 that also works fine in my G27 though the barrel sticks out a half inch or so.

Just received my G20 10mm to 40S&W Lone Wolf barrel today and will put up a review when I try it out. Also have a G29 barrel on back order and will post about that. Figured I would take advantage of all the 40 S&W ammo that .goob is buying for me to use.

Me too, however there are different extractors and spring loaded bearings for 9mm and 40 cal, the 9mm extractor is cut differently to accomodate the smaller cartridge and the bearing spring has a different tension. You may also want to consider changing the ejector, the 9mm has a bend in it to better hit the smaller cartridge.

Even without, it may still work, I would rather have the proper 9mm parts if that is what you will be shooting all the time.

Yes, there are some 9mm specific parts like the extractor and ejector. For informal use at the range I have not had one problem just replacing the barrel with a conversion. But if I planned to depend on it for competition or defense then I would go ahead and replace all the different parts. They are fairly inexpensive.

See I thought the same and when I was working on some up grades to my personal Glocks and was looking to order all of the parts was listed like G17,19,26, and so on. So I called Glock and they put me through to their Tech section and the Glock Smith told me they were the same and that Glock did it to save on time so they could produce more parts without doing change outs. He said that they did change some when you got to the G20, 21,30. He also said that some of the parts was different for the Glock Gen 4.
The one good thing and what I did the Glock part are not over priced so when I changed them out I used a heavy gun gease on them then wrapped in a wax paper put into a small box. I also put a Glock tool in the box and carry it in my jump bag for SHTF I now have every thing needed to fix my Glock in the field.

Finally tried the barrel out and it works perfect. See my range report below:

If you are going to be shooting 9mm exclusively and no intention to get onto the .40 bandwagon, I'd say just trade your G27 for a G26. No doubt there's someone who would do so straight across.
