Seven refugees with active tuberculosis (TB) were diagnosed shortly after their resettlement in Idaho between 2011 and 2015, according to the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.

TB is a curable disease, mostly.. There is a resistant strain out there and let us hope this is not a case of that.. TB is common in many third world countries, even Mexico has trouble with TB.. So think about the undocumented people slipping across the southern border and into our communities.. And they are not tested for TB, nor are the homeless populations in any one of the large cities.. This is the reason why most all the nursing homes are required to do a TB test on admission and staff are tested yearly.. There's a lot worse diseases that can find their way into our lands.. Witness the mental deficiency's that encourage poor behaviour by those that had been graciously saved.. Excuse me, I have reached my nice quota for the day, anything else said will be just rude!

As far as I know zika and many other mosquito borne disease can only be spread by the mosquito biting an infected person and then biting a second person and infecting them. Thus we are importing it by allowing people from all over the world into our country without being screened for all kinds of disease. Another benefit of our world wide economy and our non existant borders. We are not only "our brothers keepers" but get to share all of their exotic diseases.

50 years ago the people responsible for bringing disease across our borders would have been lucky to survive long enough for a trial and then, if lucky, would have spent the rest of their life behind bars. Actions like this would have resulted in Battle of Athens TN type scenarios, I guess with the decline of WWII veterans we have gotten soft.

what kind of non sense is this? [nutkick] people have always brought disease into this country its why we use to quarantine refugees. To eliminate the spread of TB, lice, scabies, and any other disease that people get when they are confined together for too long without sufficient water to keep clean.

Illegal immigrants aren't any different, we just don't have control over who enters. This is a great argument for involving the CDC and having them confine immigrants but a stupid argument for saying 50 years ago people were killed for bringing disease.... get your facts straight and stop spreading the 'stupid' disease.

The people "responsible for bringing disease across our borders" I was referring to are the government officials who are running this program, them and such ill conceived plans would have met with deep hostility 50 years ago from the WWII generation of men who took our countries security seriously.

What occurred at Athens TN in 1946 was just the tip of the ice-burg as the GI's returned and found what a mess the country was in.

These people with TB are refugees, not illegal aliens, and in a Federal program. Illegal alien means just that, and it is unlawful for them to be here.

The military is legally charged with protecting our borders, but they are away guarding poppy fields in Afghanistan, and oil pipelines in Iraq. Instead we get a Federal bureaucracy called the Border Patrol.

Sorry I missunderstood On The IMMIGRANT Issue AND To Be Honest Many illegals are refugees

Correct me if I'm wrong but protecting our borders doesn't mean the military can operate inside the USA, outside of military bases.

There is nothing wrong with t g e border patrol that good leaderrship can't fix.

No one works well with micro management or having their hands tied by 'policy'

From our Constitution, Article 4, Section 4, " United States shall guarantee to every state a republican form of government and shall protect each of them against invasion"

If 1,000,000 Illegal aliens crossing our border every year is not an invasion, then I am truly deceived.

The Border Patrol was formed in 1924, before that the military patrolled our borders. The BP has been keelhauled by orders to observe and release by our political machine which desires a union with Mexico and Canada for the so called North American Union, like the present European Union.

Yesterday, 6/28/16, as the US, Mexican, and Canadian Presidents met in Canada, the Mexican President was pushing hard for this Union to take place as his country has been stripped of it's wealth. I just have to wonder if the Mexican politicos look forward to gaining access to the US tax base, and exactly where their share of the loot will end up.

Imagine all those gangbangers with easy access north, sounds like Mad-Max to me.
