This information is from a good friend of mine who is an professional in his field. It would be a good idea to have an alternative communication system and news source when our standard system is taken offline by whatever means. Disaster or ....you fill in the blank.

There is some good scoop in that link. If anyone on the board has, or has used any of the products mentioned, we could use a review. One of these days, I'm going to break down and get a Grundig unit. They were the best going 50 years ago (Granpa had one of then current manufacture for use with his Civil Defense responsibility as block warden) dunno why that would change.
