Donate today!! Make this a 5th of November to remember!! http://www.ronpaul2008.com To paraphrase; Good evening. Allow me first to apologize for this interruption. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of every day routine- the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as anyone. But in the spirit of commemoration, I thought we could mark this day by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat. There are of course those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now, these words are being recorded. Why? Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to those in power. They promised you order, they promised you peace, and all they demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent. Tonight I seek to end that silence. To remind this country of what it has forgotten. More than two hundred years ago our founding fathers wished to embed the fire of freedom forever in our memory. Their hope was to remind the world that fairness, justice, and freedom are more than words, they are perspectives. So if you've seen nothing, if the crimes of this government remain unknown to you then I would suggest you allow these words to pass unmarked. But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek, then I ask you to stand with me this next election. Together we shall cower the Congress, shake the Senate, and together we shall give them an election in November that shall never, ever be forgot. Vote Ron Paul

November 6, 2007 Amazing! I have to admit being floored by the $4.2 million dollars you raised yesterday for this campaign. And unlike the fatcat operations of the opposition, the average contribution from our 36,672 donors was $103. I say "you raised," because this historic event was created, organized, and run by volunteers. This is the spirit that has protected American freedom in our past; this is the spirit that is doing so again. Some of the mainstream media have sat up and taken notice. Others have pooh-poohed our record online fundraising. But the day is coming--far faster than they know--when they will not be able to ignore our freedom revolution. We are working hard, with you, to spread our message far and wide-in New Hampshire, in South Carolina, in Iowa, and in every other state with a primary. And people are listening. As you and I know, there is hope for America-in liberty and peace, and the prosperity they bring. There is hope for America--in a sound dollar, the rule of law, and the Constitution. Hope...We are/were the typical american working class conservative couple, we've supported the repubs for alot of years. I opted out of supporting the party andprovide a curt reply to party telemarketting attempts,finally asking to be removed from the fundraising rolls.My wife otoh continues to recieve requests and is aboutas far from tinfoil as ann coulter, the other day she looks up from the kitchen wearing her radio headphones( listening to lush rimbaugh)andout of the blue says "We should send A contribution to Ron paul"..I was(still am) floored. "I've been meaning to, how much doya want to send"? and thanks to MM 's links it was easy and satifying ;course,now I get really infuriated when talking heads and other "supposed nuetrals" spout the usual" "he doesn't have a chance"...Well of course he doesn't if everyone thinks that way.I don't believe in the idiocy of voting along with the lemmings just so I can say "my guy won"...We need third party ideals. Dr. Paul's the only hope of handing our children a functioning democracy. I don't believe in voting against somebody.( "well you're just voting for hillary if you dont vote for romney or the other pod candidate").
