I’m in the process of collating my notes for my next book, and in the process, pulled up a pdf of an essay I read in college, for my undergraduate degree. Written by Sir John Bagot Glubb, it is entitled The Fate of Empires and the Search for Empire. Sir John wrote it in 1978. It is an often-discussed little piece of writing, that entirely far too people who discuss have actually taken the time to read. At a mere 60 pages, it can be read in a very short time.
