Had my regular Monday lunch with @Bear. He showed his latest batch of toss'n and boot blades. Very sweet. We also talked about trap triggers as came up on the forum. Since he hadn't heard about the promontory peg until yesterday, after lunch I used the used chopstick to make one. It took but a minute. Then Bear made one in a minute too. Since the table was slick, we went outside to set it up. We discreetly used the back of my truck. Set up took maybe 10 seconds. We used Bear's goodie bag as the deadfall. Here's a close up of the trigger. Here's Bear's. Set up perfectly in very short order. First time for him using this trigger.
Mahalo @Yard Dart. One pair of chopsticks would yield two triggers in two minutes. Weighs nothing. AND I fed my face with them first. Sets up in nothing flat. Ask @Bear how fast it was. When I set mine up, all he said was, "You suck!" And it is both stable and sensitive at the same time.
Sun setting on a beautiful day. My happy Buddha buddy now has company in the wealth corner of our yard.
Yeah @Hanzo got his on the first try like he has been doing it all his life... and I had to try several times (but I helped hold his chop stick while he sawed it ) And I sawed my own with not assistance... LOL... Cool little trigger... and the pho was good too... as well as the company...
What can I say? @Bear is a gentleman. I figured he would want to make his first one on his own. More satisfaction for him. He only took two tries in about 10 seconds to set his trigger. He's a natural.
Tonight's dinner was a small salad and leftover chicken tikka masala. And as we discussed, @Bear, dessert was cheesecake.
By the way. ..@hanzo 's Masada was delicious! He dropped off for our dinner tonight. Daughter and I had 2 servings each and Daughter is taking to school for lunch tomorrow! Thanks Buddy!
I just saw old pictures of the trigger. Just a quick note, bait goes on the tip of the base stick. So I would carve that down a little and into a point.
