If you have welding equipment, this is an interesting 'upcycle' of auto parts I would run it a couple of time to burn off the paint etc before cooking on it. Of a more practical use would be to have a cook top - and fed by a classic rocket stove
Those look great and probably work well but require metalwork skills I don't have - I did have an old bucket, a Pringles tin, and leftover fencepost concrete. Now I can make coffee and Kraft Dinner after "the big one". Maybe I can get my kids to take welding class to up my game.
Go to harbor freight ,, get one of their little wire welders for a hundred bucks , a side grinder and cutting wheels for about 30 bucks and you're in business.
I bought my SIL a little Lincoln sputter-box some time ago - now I need to con him into welding up one of these.
You need a welding helmet and gloves. and if you are going to use a grinder you need a clear face shield. the welder needs to be run in the strongest/closest circuit to the main no extension cords.
His is a welder/plumber with a State fitness certificate - all the way up to Medical gasses. It's getting him up to speed on the design and buying the metal
