Only in Louisiana...
Rodeo hunters target destructive species | HoumaToday.com
Never heard of a Nutria before
not bad eating if you have nothing else to eat... tastes like rabbit.....
Makes nice fur coats, too.
I remember going out with a .22 rifle and a buddy back when I was a senior in HS...long about 1968. We prolly killed 8-10 nutria easy in less than 2 hours. They were in the rice fields in SW LA and liked to eat/burrow thru the levees for the rice fields. This is NOT a good thing, FYI.
Ugly little buggers with orange front teeth for the most part.
Never tried eating them although I'd heard it was a "delicacy" for some.
Y'all need some Florida Pythons to take care of those Water Rats......
( It's NOT what's for dinner!)
Nutria....Its Whats for Supper....!!!
Needs LOTS of: Garlic, onions, and seasoned salt!
But they have rodents here too! We call them: Javelina...big nasty filthy smelly rats!
Mais if it bleeds...We can eat it...!!!
Those teeth are actually ivory, so hang onto them.
I personally think they should take this show on the road.
Perhaps Washington DC.
Broaden the destructive species catagory a bit
