If you all haven't heard, those Russian sailors where rescued. Good old Brits. Can't imagine being stuck at the bottom of the ocean in a small metal tube. Thank God their out.
As a submariner myself, I can tell you we thought about it now and then. And I feel considerably relieved that those guys were saved. Thank God, indeed, no matter what form you believe in.
I'm sure the Russian sailors and their families back home are very relieved. As am I. Doesn't matter who saved them, just that they were saved.
I remembered you were a submariner ghrit and thought the event must have raised the hairs on the back of your neck. I'm glad these sailors didn't suffer the same fate as the last.
It got my attention, for sure. Those who go to sea are a breed apart, no matter the ship type. For sewer pipe sailors, it's even more so, no matter the flag they sail under. Our job was to kill the other ship, not necessarily the people in it. Hated that thought.
