seating the bead on a tire

Well I had occasion to try it out several times last week as MO titmouse got a flat so picked up a full set of used tires. I got to mount them at home to save some money and found most had leaks so kept swapping them onto rims. My main conclusion, while the explosive sprays work and generaly so dose the ratchet strap and a few kicks while airing, the harder part for me was manageing to get them on and off the rims, especialy since didnt have the proper tools so was just useing 2 crowbars.
