I can't find any explanation for this one..anyone care to shed some light on this one??

Year before last, I went to upstate NY on vacation. When leaving from the Jax airport...walked up, told the guy outside I had a firearm to declare..and he escorted me in and put me in the front of the line. All the time, keeping his hands near me...The woman at the desk checked it...made sure we had the only key to it..and sent it ahead to the plane.

    However....

When leaving New York, 10 days later..(and Washington DC was all over the news that day as terroristic threats had been made....) We walk in to the Capital of New York, in the airport...carrying a shotgun , in a case...and tell the guy "Firearm to declare"..and he just waves us in. We were in line for over an hour, with a gun...with shells in the case...standing in the Albany airport in the middle of thousands of people..and NO ONE even asked what it was or what we were doing with a firearm in the middle of the airport...

Now there's some security for you.

(By the way, the area up near Ticonderoga, on Lake George is absolutely beautiful...in the Summer. ;) )
