i can honestly say i probably wouldn't have got the head shot @ 250yd on my moose without these. right in the neck below his ear.i had the bipod version and they were unimpressive. they stopped working after a unscheduled swimming session. the tripod however is the shit. list at 209 but 168 at sportsmans. hold the handle, squeeze the lever, nice and stable. deploys quick even on unlevel ground. i borrowed the ones i took a moose with, and bought the same on the trip home. i looked at other types but not having to fiddle with latches or screw/unscrew legs was awesome. when seconds counted and he dropped his head to run these made it happen. 1/4-20 quick change adapter for camera/spotting scope. locks legs into low profile sitting/kneeling position. i have not been this happy with a piece of gear in a long time. edit, i did a made in usa search on primos site,,,it didnt say, so prob not made here. Primos TRIGGER STICK GEN3 TALL TRIPOD SHOOTING STICK
I like shooting sticks. I have a small fold up bi pod type to throw in the pack for long trips that ive used well. A larger tri pod that works well. Taken some good shots with both.
Mine are hardwood, with leather at the rest. Tall enough to sight above most Eastern North Carolina grasses and weeds, but they serve the same purpose, to steady a rifle for a shot that at that time and place wouldn't otherwise be possible.
I just ordered a BOG Death grip tripod. I have read and heard good things about them. It's not the high end $2000 tripods but it should suffice just fine for my needs.
it looked more sturdy but i didnt like the latches to adjust the legs. the clamp, pan and tilt is nice. i think the primos is faster but the bog is more stable. lets see how long the primos trigger adjust holds up.
Loved your picture Andy, now all I need is some good game shots to prove it works? Hint, hint. I love to see the pictures you take. They are both very beautiful and show me glimpses of that strange foreign land you live in. Must be a change to be a member of a group who considers you to be the exotic one. I have really enjoyed all of your hunting pictures and hope you will bless us with many more. With the gun porn, knife porn, good stories, and thought provoking comments, this site has indeed been blessed.
