admittedly....we're more or less just playing with it right now....
I'm not a huge fan of "lockdown" but we will certainly be looking to create a structure of permissions that works for everyone.
We've also had a substantial challenge for linux users....even with our experts....who are incredible BTW and with the patience of Job....

Work in progress....and i'm lazy....and chasing ladies.....

Goal remains the same:
1. A place for any Monkeys to have encrypted voice coms and meet for the first time.
2. A place to voice chat while gaming or "relaxing".
3. Get it all working right and pleasant looking - hand it over to Melbo.
4. Win.

Two questions:
1) For the server end, what was the cost?
2) What are the "normal hours" we expect people to be online?

Server is cheap depending on how many slots you rent.
$20ish for 15 slots for 3 months.
If one had a dedicated box with plenty of upstream speed, the actual server software is free to download too.
The real investment is time to set up all the permissions, resize/upload icons and get it organized...
Lucky for me:
@Brokor did all the permissions so it would be properly secured
@Ganado made it look classy instead of trashy with icons
@Motomom34 tried to keep me nice
@Mountainman wrote the Windows Install guide,
@sec_monkey and Brokor refused to give up on linux and got that going for some folks
Techsar checked out the phone/tab apps and found out they cost $ and ask for too many permissions from your phone (for apple/google - not Teamspeak admin)....
The other monkeys who joined to meet were kind enough to put up with me hammering beers and babbling while everyone else did all the work.

In truth....it really has been a fun "team effort" and testament to how cool people are from this site.

In terms of "when is the best times"...5-8pm EST have been the norm for me....weekend was highest # of people.
I see no reason if you want to meet certain people - PM them and set up a time.
It's really no hassle to create a room with a password if you have a use for it.

 

A notice to all monkeys- when you enter Teamspeak you will automatically go into the lobby. This is where most of the activity is. If you and another monkey or two want to have chats outside of the main lobby, you can enter one of the rooms i.e.motomom, yarddart, mountainman ect... these are areas out of the general gathering area. Feel free to use them if you want to chat with friends or if the language is not acceptable. You can drag your names into the box you desire.

So far teamspeak has been a great tool in my opinion. I was able to chat last night with 4 other members, lots of info and good will was shared.

As Grinder said evenings seem to be the best time to catch members. I look forward to speaking with more monkeys this weekend.
