I got a Sigma .40 that is supposed to be a decent weapon but it looks like a POS to me. All the reviews say it is a good low-cost alternative to a Glock and was designed with police in mind; I can see this because the damned thing won't shoot. I have never seen a more mickey-mouse design in my life. Apparently the transfer bar between the trigger and the dis-connect is too short to allow the weapon to trip. The gun don't shoot and is too dull to cut someone and too light to use as a blundgeon and is ergonomically inferior to the average rock so save your money on this one.

The Early Sigmas were decent weapons, then the SV series that some call Sigmas are POS. Smith's Example of Rush and Cost Savings. I love Smith Revolvers and Steel Autos. The Alloy and Polymer Guns are lacking.

One of the FFL in town had a new Beretta in .40 for $419.00 it looked like a nice gun.

I only own 6 handguns and only plan on buying around 3 more the rest of my life. But if there is ever a law passed that I can only buy 1 handgun a month I will do what ever it takes to buy 1 a month. So let them pass the law and see where that gets them.

Dump that POS and get a Glock. Have 4 of them, the first 2 in 92' and 2 more compacts in the late 90's. Have never had any problems with them.

On the plus side, Smith sent me a prepaid shipping box to send it to them to fix. It apparently has a broken striker.

Didn't want the Smith, it was a gift. Don't want an M&P either; just don't like plastic guns.

I got eleven 1911's and several revolvers and a half-dozen .22 semi-autos but the SW.40V is the only plastic gun I own and I plan to give it to one of the guys at work when it gets fixed.
