GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. (AP) - Isn't it still summer? A snow advisory has been issued for the Northern Oregon Cascades and will be in effect until Friday at 3 p.m. Cities forecast to be affected include Government Camp, Detroit and Santiam Pass. The National Weather Service says the advisory is for above 5,000 feet. The Weather Service is forecasting from four to eight inches of snow Wednesday night and Thursday. That includes the higher Cascades and at the ski resorts, such as Timberline and Mount Hood Meadows. Below 5,000 feet, only an inch or two of snow is expected Wednesday night and possibly again on Thursday. The snow level is expected to hover near 4,500 feet on Wednesday. The snow is being produced by an unseasonably cool upper low over the Pacific Northwest.
