I'm getting 6 to 12" of snow tonight. My Internet is spotty and will get worse as the NorEaster comes through Maryland. (Direcway National Operations Center)

Lost signal last night and just got it back but it is blinky.

Also just got a call from the wife that she lost power steering... I have the new Radiator Fan Clutch in my truck.. I'm guessing it went and tore out the belt. Nice night for car troubles. Hope the Radiator is OK...

    More later.

Due for 6 to 8 at the last meteorological hand waving and crystal ball reading. So far, it's a bust.

Every think about how many supermarkets advertise during the weather portion of the news. I can't help but wonder if the meteorologists work on commission?

...HEAVY SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EST SUNDAY...

A HEAVY SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EST SUNDAY.

A MIXTURE OF RAIN AND SNOW WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE BALTIMORE AND WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN AREAS AND THE REMAINDER OF NORTHERN AND CENTRAL VIRGINIA AND CENTRAL MARYLAND. THROUGH EARLY THIS EVENING...PRECIPITATION WILL INCREASE IN INTENSITY ACROSS THE AREA. AS SUNSET APPROACHES...ANY MIXED RAIN AND SNOW WILL CHANGE TO ALL SNOW.

SNOW WILL INCREASE IN INTENSITY THIS EVENING WITH THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL EXPECTED BETWEEN 9 PM AND 5 AM SUNDAY MORNING. SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR CAN BE EXPECTED AT TIMES DURING THE EVENING AND OVERNIGHT HOURS WITH VISIBILITIES REDUCED BELOW 1/2 MILE IN THE HEAVIER BURSTS OF SNOW.

TEMPERATURES WILL FALL FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS...FALLING BELOW FREEZING THIS EVENING.

BY SUNDAY MORNING...TOTAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO BE 6 TO 12 INCHES OVER MUCH OF THE AREA. OVER SOUTHERN MARYLAND... WARMER TEMPERATURES THIS AFTERNOON WILL DELAY THE CHANGEOVER TO ALL SNOW THIS EVENING...WITH TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS SUNDAY MORNING OF 4 TO 8 INCHES EXPECTED.

THE SNOW IS EXPECTED TO END FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST SUNDAY MORNING...BEGINNING JUST AFTER SUNRISE. WHILE WINDS WILL INCREASE OUT OF THE NORTHWEST SUNDAY...THE SNOW WILL BE FAIRLY HEAVY AND WET LIMITING THE POTENTIAL FOR BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW.

AS SNOWFALL RATES INCREASE THIS EVENING...ROAD CONDITIONS WILL DETERIORATE AND TRAVEL WILL BECOME VERY DIFFICULT ON SNOW COVERED ROADWAYS...WITH REDUCED VISIBILITY. ONCE THE STEADY HEAVY SNOWFALL BEGINS THIS EVENING...AVOID ANY UNNECESSARY TRAVEL.

A HEAVY SNOW WARNING MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ALWAYS CARRY A WINTER SAFETY KIT WITH EMERGENCY SUPPLIES IF YOU MUST TRAVEL IN A SNOWSTORM.

    HaHa.

Made it 97% home and then slip sliding away... I do not know what caused my Rig to stop at the edge of the cliff.. It was like a movie... Slowly crawled all 3 of us out the drivers door.

Girls walked the mile in heels. 8" of snow.

No tow trucks are running tonight either. I just know someone is going to bump my truck and send it to it's grave later.

Oh well. Nothing I can do about it tonight.

Good night to crack that Pendleton Quig.

Glad you all made it home melbo. We've already got about 9" and its coming down fast and furious. Guess I should get out there and start plowing but there is something nice about being snuggled inside, hot coffee in hand, just watching winter do it thing.

Well, it's official at my place. I took out my trusty measuring stick and its between 17 and 18". Only a few big flakes coming down now so its over. Light and fluffy - perfect for sledding and skiing.

Yeah..I know what you mean. You get busy and just warm up....

And I guess it's what you're used to....In August and Sept..our worst months? I can get in my car at lunch and sit there and just enjoy the heat...Fully dressed for work....No AC or anything...just find some shade and sit and read.....
and it is close to 95 degrees , or higher, outdoors.....
You can tell the tourists...Some of them just can't take it...and understood...they look like they are about to expire ......I am just used to it...Lived in this kind of heat all my life....
