How convenient. Background check system down for upgrade? No guns can be sold. Very very interesting. PA flap could serve as warning to all gun owners - Seattle gun rights | Examiner.com
2nd Amendment was circumvented in 1934 with a ban on "gangster weapons". Kinda funny since those same "gangster weapons" were also the goto weapons of federal agents.... Hmm does that mean they admitted that federal agents are nothing more than badge carrying gangsters?
Private transactions legal in the Sooner State as well. Guns shows are hilarious looks like an auction house half the time.
Michigan only partially sucks. Private transactions on long guns No Problem, need permit for private sale. Need to check wording of current legislation in committee, hoping that they do away with background for private handgun sales too. It's not like the criminals care anyway. they just pays their money and got a bang bang for later use.
Computer upgrades are generally done over the weekend - this is much ado about nothing. With the huge increase in sales nationwide, it's to be expected some systems will need upgrading to take careof the increased business. They gave you warning of when - so don't buy your gun for those few hours. We here in IT don't always get warnings of 'transparent to the user upgrades' til something suddenly doesn't work as it used to.
Same thing happens in TN occasionally. Since our computer system "talks" to the feds sometimes, rarely, the link is down. Bad part is/was that when a background check is run via the TBI's website they don't post anything saying that the system is down. Instead the status of the BG check just stays in "pending". After a while you call them up and it's "oh, the computers are down, we don't know when they'll be back up." Private sales are still legal here, in TN, but without the computer system FFL's are outta luck.
Here in NH, if a BG check stays "pending" for 3 days, you can then just go get your gun. Also, private sales are fine to another in state resident with no paperwork or anything.
