I read about this in Popular Mechanics. It requires some advances in technology to make it durable and cost efficient but is a great idea. The article stated that if a WalMart parking lot was made with solar cells, even if every spot was parked in it would still generate more power than the store uses.
working now or not, everyone one is starting to think outside the box and not be so narrow minded. New technologies are coming out each week which didn't exists the week before. it's this kind of thinking that will be another nail in the coffin of foreign oil.
