    @Pineknot .....
    Yes, I know of a place here: About two Miles south of me......
    5 Acres, Cabin, Large Shop, Small Stream, for water... On the Trail System....
    Know the Owners, and with sufficient Down, I believe they would carry a Private Contract.... Looking for around $60KUS....

    Naw, Alaska Marine Lines runs Barges here once a week, from Seattle, in the summers. Just load up the Conex Boxes and they arrive 6 Days later, ready to haul the stuff up the Mountain...

    Not that I am seriously considering (yet, at least) starting something else up in the tundra...but what might they consider sufficient down. 1/3? 1/4? 1/2?

    BTPOST. Stupid question. How big are the mesquite in the summer. .. how big and are they every where. I've never been to Alaska so I genuinely don't know. And those little suckers love me.

    I would suspect, something like 25% down would work..... I have a contact PhoneNumber, and FaceBook Page, or if you are going to the Atlanta Knife show, They will be there with a Bunch of really nice Knives.....

    They are so BIG that they require an FAA FlightPlan, in order to Land..... They have been KNOWN to make small children disappear.... They are so BIG, they been accused of hauling off medium sized ToolBoxes..... These are just a FEW of the Sayings used to tell FlatLanders about Alaska Mesquitoes..... This doesn't even get to the "sayings" about our "Flying Teeth" (No See-ums)....

    Our very own BTPost does tend to exaggerate the size of those flying PIAs, but it is impossible to exaggerate the quantity. En mass, they can carry off the unwary. Why, my father (on a fishing trip) saw them carry a small grizz away to eat later.

    I hope any of you planning on traveling on foot consider bag balm and some tiger balm. It's one thing hiking, whole other story covering ground in a hurry with adrenaline. Rashed up and sore is no way to move. Especially if you chafe between your legs.
