a new one ( to me) "the patriots`dream": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTrZ2FEETvs&NR=1 longas we're covering canuck folk singers there's Stan Rodgers: barrets' privateers,: YouTube- Stan Rogers Barrett's Privateers , that was Stan's story. The full shanty from the very beginning( As you can see from my choice in music; I didn't get laid much, still don't): YouTube- Barrett's Privateers
Thanks, guy's gotta know who his friends really are.. Honestly: no... but, c'mon you 've gotta' like "barrets privateers"
Tracy, One of my dads favorite singers was Red Sovine. My sister and I made up a CD from various artists for his service, the first song we thought to put on it was "Giddy up, Go". I always did like to listen to my dad sing along with the story songs, or 50's or 60's music. Damn, I miss my dad sometimes.
No prob. Okay; so now you guys have me lost in ballad-land. I'm almost done with the 100 greatest rock ballads and thirsting for more. Can you help me find a playable list of not-rock ballads?
Thanks for lookin'! I've tried the youtube thing, but I'm not patient (or sedentary) enough to sit and clickety-clickety-click to hear music. It's just as easy to turn on the stereo. I was just hoping for a day full of stories I could sing along with (of course, the children will rejoice that I couldn't find it ).
Cruise the local estate auctions. CD and vinyl collections go cheap and often contain Lightfoot, Bellefonte, and Stewart albums.
