Yesterday, I rode my bike a couple hundred miles to watch Tommy's friends and his mother and sister make their last jump with him. His ashes were released from inside a flag deployed by his best friend. My ride home was very contemplative and healing. The video of the jump is on my Facebook page.
What a beautiful way for his family and friends to sent him off and to pay tribute. I believe he would have approved.
Moose, that is just wrong; don't you have a Timex or something? (Translation: yes, it was a beautiful moment, I just can't find any other words to express it.)
What a grand tribute and thanks for sharing. On a slightly different note our son made his last jump in he Army career last Sunday. He is coming back home to NC at Ft Bragg. He will be attached to a non jump section till retirement next year. There is an old saying: If at first you do not succeed then skydiving may not be for you.
I was on jump status for 10 years with most of those at Ft. Bragg... and I have to say, those are some great photos of his last jump... very moving. Airborne!!!!!
