I ran across one today in a gun shop, I think this is as close as I have ever been in a polymer frame wanting mode.
It is surprising slim in the grips for s high capacity mad hand gun , it is as slim as the Glock Mod 36 compact single stack 45 and way smaller then the full size 45 or the Mod 35 Glock double stack compact.
The very smaller beaver tail works really well, at first glance I thought that will never work, also the grip has a swell in the rear, so tossed it up in my hand and the”” Holy shit”” thought entered, this thing feels good!
So the handling of it passes the Quig test
So im standing there thinking the internals must be a night mare….looking at the gun dude behind the counter knowing well I was NOT going to buy this thing I thought im going to ask anyway if he minds anyway if we break it down.
Well he says” Hell yea! lets see what makes it tick!” ” I have been waiting to tear one “down!
So off and running…. First you cock it, then line up the slide lever to the slot and then turn it forward then the lever in front of it goes to the rear, then pull the trigger and wha-la it open in to halves!
And to my amazement there was the minimal of parts as compared to other polymer pistols. Don’t need to be a Spring Field Armor to tear this one down.
So I have yet to shoot one, and that will determined if I buy one, so soon im going to be pound rounds down range.
I would like to hear what kind of accuracy you have been getting with it at what yardage etc….
And ammo felt recoil, is it something a woman can shoot easily?
Stay tune for a range report from me later …..

I bought one of these today, the black 4". Like QS I have NEVER considered plastic guns before but this one was too much. I bought the "Combat Handguns" mag that proclaimed this XD "the best .45acp EVER" and read about it. According to them a woman can and did shoot it, but at a pawn shop yesterday the guy said it's too big for a woman and he liked his Glock better. Meh.

I called a place today here in Vegas and they had 8 of 'em so I went and handled one, then bought one. Too big? In my hand my thumb overlaps my second finger down to the first knuckle, so for me it's not too big at all.

Now my friend has a XD in .40 and he can't get more than 11 rounds in the 12 round mag (how the F$#K does the .45 hold more than the .40? LOL). So I wanted to see if the 13-round mag actually holds 13 rounds of Felon Repellant, and it does easily. I didn't even have to use the included mag loader to get 'em all in.

Hopefully I'll get to shoot it Thursday. This is a neat package and I like how SA made it pretty complete, although I would like night sights. If I like it and can get leather made for it I might have a new carry gun! :)

Quigs mine is dead on. Way more so than I am. Even I was hitting the center X on the target on the first shot. after that the groups spread out, but that is more me than the gun. My cousin who is 20 and pretty new to guns, he said it was a little rough on his wrist but I think he limp wristed it. I am no real stranger to shooting, and I have not issues with the recoil. Muzzle climb isn't bad at all as the gun is a little nose heavy. The 5'' Tacti-cool model would probably even have less climb.

Now that being said, I don't really care for shooting .44mag revolvers because of the recoil. So if you are a .44mag fan then this should be a walk in the park.

My buddy who hated the Glock Fo-Teez because they felt like a fire cracker going off in his hand likes the feel of the XD. [boozingbuddies]

I think this gun will be harder on the wrist of people used to shooting steel framed guns. Because the slide is so much heavier than the body it'll feel much snappier in it's movement - I think anyway. I'm used to shooting my aluminum frame Kimber CDP so it shouldn't be a problem.

Magnus, most of us ain't "pro-feshonal" enuff to shoot the Glock .40! Bang! LOL

I shot about 200 rounds out of the new XD today ans was amazed! The trigger feels way different than a 1911 when it's empty but shooting it there was no difference to me - and the same accuracy. I was shooting a target that had all internal body parts marked out so after the intial couple of mags I put up a new target and ran it to 20 yards. I shot 13 rounds anf had 8 in the heart, 3 in the lungs, one ribcage and one flyer in the elbow.

I got so into shooting this thing I didn't want to quit! Finally I went and got an employee to qualify me with it so I could add it to my CCW, and that fast and easy.

I am VERY impressed. I bought a holster and a Insight weapon light for it, and look to carry it as soon as I can get it on the permit.
