My daughter just reached into a drawer and cut an L shaped incision on her fingertip. 20 minutes of pressure and it's still bleeding badly. Thinking of trying the Super Glue thingy... Do I just open the cut and squeeze some in? thanks
I've heard of glue being used instead of stitches, but I always thought medical glue would be different than consumer glue. Like... should I ignore the message on this bottle of super glue I'm holding that says, "In event of body or eye contact, flush for 15 minutes". However, it does warn me that it'll bond skin in seconds, so at least it'd work.
Aptus, you have to read into these things. It says to flush for 15 minutes, you assumed water. Flushing with blood is acceptable if they don't specify. Last time I got super glue in contact with my body, I sat on the toilet and flushed the damn thing for 15 minutes, don't have a clue what that had to do with getting glue on me
IIRC, it's abou tthe same stuff. Onbe is rated for skin and another isn't. Then again, if they didn't warn you on a bottle of it, people would be glueing themselves together all the time accidentally. phishi?
Melbo is correct, to the best of my knowledge. Before you go and glue yourself together however, you need to make sure that the bleeding has stopped and that the wound is clean. Failure to do either can result in infections. Also, it is not advisable to use this on the face. Double that warning around the eyes. Best usage is to IMO is to close a wound on a high use area like the hands. Think of places where placing a band aid and expecting it to stay is a no go. phishi
I looked again at this particular bottle, it specifies water. So I guess I should find one that doesn't specify or is rated for skin?
