America, I do believe it’s TIME to take up arms…

In full disclosure, I am a sitting board member of the National Rifle Association, which if you didn’t know, was founded with the goal of improve rifle marksmanship. And yes, I am the proud owner of two AR-15s — America’s modern-day musket — along with a Mossberg tactical for home defense and a Beretta 12-gauge for sport shooting. I also have several handguns ranging from “Old Glory,” my Charter Arms .38, to a .380, 9mm, .40, and a Taurus .45 to including a vintage World War I service revolver last fired on November 11, 1918. I was recently presented a prized engraved Sig Sauer .45 from the Vineyard family of Texas, proud founders and owners of Babe’s Chicken Dinner restaurants. My oldest daughter, Aubrey, wanted her own 9 mm pistol for her 21st birthday, which I was proud to present.

Why am I sharing all this? Well, there was an interesting report
from the Washington Examiner: “Gun sales hit the 17th consecutive monthly record in September according to FBI data released on Monday, and overall sales are up 27 percent compared to the same period last year.

A total of 1,992,219 background checks were processed through the bureau’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System for the month of September, higher than the 1,795,102 conducted in September 2015.

The number of checks run through the FBI’s NICS system is a reliable indicator of how firearm sales are trending, though there is no precise correlation between the number of checks and the number of guns being sold. Licensed dealers are required to run a check in the database every time they make a sale, but sometimes turn buyers down.

Sales have surged in the wake of ammunition shortages and fears that the Obama administration may seek to restrict Second Amendment rights in the president’s waning days in office. Experts say the equipment being sold indicates interest has spiked out of growing interest in self-defense and hunting.

“Sales of handguns and AR’s have been very strong for the past two months. Hunting rifles have been about average for this time of year,” Scott Blick, a managing partner at Ammunition Depot, told the Washington Examiner.

“A year-over-year record has been set every month since May 2015. The September figure brings the total for the first nine months of the year to 19,872,694, and puts this year easily on track to break last year’s 12-month record, when 23,141,970 sought to purchase firearms.”

Consider what we’ve recently learned about the federal government trolling parking lots of gun shows taking down license plates. We’ve shared here the actions of President Obama’s home state of Hawaii, where they’re actually sharing the personal information of law-abiding gun owners with the federal government.

We shared the story of the City Council of Seattle imposing a “gun violence tax” on legal gun purchasers of $25 per firearm and five cents on each piece of ammunition — you know, law-abiding citizens must pay their “fair share” and be held responsible for criminal gun crimes…how typical of progressive socialists.

Hillary Clinton has stated previously that she believed Heller vs DC should be overturned and she’ll impose a national 25 percent gun tax on firearm purchases.

So, look, all you folks out there going through massive consternation about supporting Donald Trump — tell me, what is the alternative? Trump is not the second coming of Reagan, nope, and stop looking for a reincarnation or resurrection of Reagan.

Stop professing the absurd notion of political perfection, as it is the enemy of good enough. How many Democrats have come out publicly and said they cannot support Hillary Clinton because she is a corrupt, deceitful, liar and disingenuous? None of them! They all line up like lemmings — including Bernie Sanders — and march to the same order: the drum beat of collective progressivism and political ideological elitism.

Did you notice how our U.S. Supreme Court issued an edict that all our states must observe and allow same-sex marriage using the 14th Amendment equal protection clause as rationale?

Then ask yourself, how can it be in America, a firmly established individual right, the Second Amendment, can be disavowed and disregarded in certain states?

We already have a dangerous situation with our SCOTUS — which by the way doesn’t have the enumerated constitutional power to tell the states to do anything. They can only interpret the law, the Constitution, as it applies to cases being brought before it. The SCOTUS doesn’t make law. But the law says we, as free American citizens, have the right to keep and bear arms, and that right shall not be infringed. “Gun violence taxes” are an infringement on that right…where is the SCOTUS ruling on equal protection for gun owners?

Obama once exhibited his disdain for the American First and Second Amendment rights when he talked about bitter Americans clinging to their Bibles and guns — damn right Mr. President. God, guns, and pass more ammo in order to preclude the proliferation of government tyranny.

Now, I know they don’t teach our kids American history anymore in our schools — including colleges and universities where at some you can get a degree in American history and not take a single class in American history. But there is a reason why the British landed and marched inland towards Lexington and Concord — there were on a mission to seize and destroy any gun producing factory…it ended badly then, and just as a warning to the modern day “Red Coats” of the liberal progressive socialist persuasion, history has a way of repeating itself for those who pay it no attention.

Americans are arming themselves because they see what they’re up against: a monolithic ideological machine that controls our political, media, cultural, and entertainment establishments. Funny, these are the same elites surrounded by folks who keep them safe by using guns — yet they want us disarmed. We don’t roll like that in God’s given US of A. We stand and place our hand over our heart for the National Anthem, and we sing the Star Spangled Banner loudly. And we teach our children that same level of respect. We honor the rule of law as written in our Constitution, and raise up generations to support and defend it against all enemies, foreign — and y’all too, domestic! We don’t apologize for the greatest nation the world has ever known, one so greatly blessed in its young 240 years of existence.

And we will protect ourselves when we believe the federal government, led by cowards who will not articulate the enemy, purposefully refuses to safeguard us and our way of life from Islamic terrorists or the rule of the mob.

So, just to let you know who we are and certainly me…”I am the National Rifle Association of America, and I am freedom’s safest place.” As they say out in Texas Tech Red Raider Country…”Git yer guns up. Wreck ’em!”

I am afraid with the present diseducation system and its brain washing from kindergarten to 12 th grade required for all and higher education totally controlled by the "mindless elite" we have already lost the battle. We get all worked up and scream about our rights, the Constitution, God and Country, etc, and then go back to sleep. How many of us have done anything more than buy food, ammo, fuel, solar, etc and prepared to hunker down? While we try to get our own individual ducks in a row, they have over a period of 150 years changed our system until it is their system. Did you donate money to a person running for any political office that believes as we do, or make phone calls , or talk to your neighbors about him or her. Do you go to your school board meetings or local government meetings or local youth groups? Do you write letters to the editor or tell him or her that you are not renewing your subscription because of their biased presentation of the news? The Lakota played the whole game with the USA. They signed the treaties, tried to get along with the new people, shared their resources, adopted many of their ways, and we all know how that ended up. My great grand parents spoke Lakota and my grand father could get by in it, my father knew a few words and I know none of it , and nothing about the history and culture of the people. Well that ended up rather badly for them and as a conservative God fearing Christian in the present USA you are in about the same shape as the Lakota were in 1860. They haven't disarmed you and sent you to the reservation yet, but all the plans are there and you are the ignorant savage who just doesn't understand that times have changed and things have to be done the good of all the people. We are attacked daily and they have convinced almost a majority of the country that our concepts of religion, morality, politics, individual rights, power of the state and its role in our lives, who should be in our country and their rights to come here, how the economy should function, etc, are wrong and that we must "modernize" and accept their views and be punished if we don't. We stopped them a few times in the past, Kerry comes to mind, but they just keep coming back. The fight will never end on their part and their persistence is wearing us down and they are winning. Detroit, New York, Los Angles and many other cities have been lost as well as several of the states. At 78 it will have little effect on me, as some of my ancestors have supposed to have said, it may be a good day to die. The problem is most of them died and we only read about it in "their" history books. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best, but if YOU don't participate in the system, THEY win. We still may win in the short run, but not if we don't become involved in a logical polite way and play our game on their playing field. They have the home court advantage, including the supreme court, the mass media, most of the educational system, many of the churches, etc, so we must get out and become involved. Keep it logical, polite, and watch OPSEC, but our way of life is up against the wall and if we don't resist by using their system, we will lose.

The brutal irony is that some of the steps we took in the name of freeing one segment of our population from slavery were also the first steps towards the enslavement of all of our population.

Hmm, lemme see. I served my country in the military, I served my community in law enforcement, I served my community in elected office, I served my community, county, state and country by both lobbying and working on committees where I was appointed by either a legislator or the executive, I wrote a weekly newspaper column that dealt mainly with politics, I have managed and volunteered on the campaigns of various local, county, state and federal candidates, I have given my money to various political organizations, I am a life member of the GOA and NRA as well as a firearms instructor, and I am constantly opening my big mouth concerning issues of the day both in person and in print/online and I work daily to ensure that my local community is moving towards independence and self-reliance...and most of all I make sure that my kids and grand kids are constantly taught the concepts of liberty and freedom that my daddy taught me...and our forefathers handed down to all of us.

WTF ELSE DO YOU WANT FROM ME, BLOOD? I gave some of that too...and will give more if needed, SO QUIT TRYING TO TELL ME WHAT I NEED TO FREAKIN DO AND SPEND MORE TIME WORRYING ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE DOING, M'KAY?

Sorry Duane...this wasn't really directed at you personally. I agree with what you are saying and I love ya, man. Heck, if we ever met I would probably grope you. ;)

    Two things:

Back in the 1980s when I was on the gun show circuit they (criminals and other gov't agents) were filming car plates, so that is nothing new. Yes, I saw them doing it.

Buying guns or as the first article put it "Sales have surged in the wake of ammunition shortages..." I find that amazing, buying guns but no ammo is available. Well yes, i buy ammo when I find it, but I don't buy guns.

I have beaten the dead horse to my local & state legislators (D's that I did not vote for) for many years. The wicked witches of the PNW (Murray & Cantwell) have blocked my email address. Those two are the epitome of progressive/marxist cancer to any law abiding gun owners in Washington state.
I attend many problems gun rallies in Olympia & even drove to Salem last year for a rally.
I have liberal friends that hear my words often and 8 bet they tune me out. Heck one just called & asked me if he could buy an AR10 for his brother down in California. When I told him that he could not do it legally due to I594 he asked when that happened..... WTF!!!!! He cr8nged when I told him of the upcoming legislation for an AWB he said I guess I'd better buy one before I cant.... WTF
I mentioned that the Democratic majority is what has eroded our 2A rights & he should reevaluate his voting preference. I sure hope I can get him & a couple dozen friends straightened out before Nov 8th!!!

Thank you for your efforts Chimo and if we had all done as well in our lives we wouldn't have a problem. Most of the sheeple have watched the football etc circus and allowed the liberals to take over most of our lives. It is late in the day and we are all tired, but the battle continues.

Yes, the battle continues...but it's no longer going to be a defensive battle where we play by their rules and compromise our rights away in the name of peace and unity. Time to go on the offensive and reverse all this BS. ;)

This notion that we are all just well-meaning Americans who care about our country has turned out to the the biggest lie of them all...our opponents are not Americans at all...they are evil, they are the enemy, and shall be treated as such going forward.
