    I've done enough stuff with my current shop to know how many headaches I will be avoiding if I go, and at the worst, its an expensive vacation that I can add to my resume. Haha.

    Well, then you are paying them to work for...them. There are plenty of other places where they hire you to work and will train you in the process, and don't expect you to pay them up front for the privilege.

    Then the big issue becomes what if their business model, which you have no control, over tanks? then you have lost the $$$ as well as your time and loss of sales that occurs while you are training....

    Personally , to me , It sounds like the company that is going to certify you are going to be the ones benefiting from this . Your certification , would only be a certification for their company , basically useless anywhere else ,,,if I'm understanding this correctly . I think I would look for another avenue to pursue . Good luck on your decision .
