Hi! I guess you want to know a little bit about us, huh? ok, lol, here goes: We're a young(ish) family of four (Mom-me, Dad, and two boys ages 6 and 4) We live in Florida, and the story of how we came to 'survival' is a long one, which I actually just finished writing, and am still editing a bit. But in the meantime, I'll give you the Cliff's Notes: We didn't just wake up one day and say "hey, let's become survivalists." It actually was something that started with a seed planted many years ago by my Dad. That seed 'germinated' for me back in 2007 when for me, the S did HTF. Literally. I realized then that I had a survival 'instinct,' but it would be another 3.5 years, until one day, when I decided to start a garden with my kids, that a Google Search brought me to a survivalist site, and the seed started to flower. I've spent the past year absorbing information, learning skills, planning and prepping. We just moved into our new house and have started a 'Micro Farming in Suburbia" movement. We have our garden, and our first two chickens, and we're about to start a tilapia farm, and then add turkeys or quail to our livestock. We're also considering rabbits but that's still on the table. (No pun intended.) Now that I have some knowledge, and feel like I can converse on this subjectt with some level of intelligence, I'm joining as many forums and blogs as I can to get new ideas and share my own too. So, that's us.
