We've had some outstanding weather so far this winter. About 4 days where it was down around freezing in the morning, but it warmed up nicely during the day. That's about to come to a screeching halt, though. 10-Day Forecast TODAY Dec 24 70°F 36° FRI Dec 25 73° 41° SAT Dec 26 58° 21° SUN Dec 27 30° 20° Snow/Wind 100% 5-8 in NNW 31 mph MON Dec 28 36° 13° Sunny 0% NNW 13 mph TUE Dec 29 36° 9° Mostly Sunny WED Dec 30 37° 10° Sunny E 6 mph THURS Dec 31 35° 10° Mostly Sunny NNE 10 mph FRI Jan 1 35° 15° Cloudy N 10 mph SAT Jan 2 39° 17° AM Snow Showers 60% <1 in NNE 9 mph Folks, the last time we had weather like this was about 3 years ago. Pipes bursting, roads slick and folks don't know how to drive on them, cold, cold, COLD! Yeah, know for most folks on the forum, this is probably mild, but keep in mind, we're in SE NM....the desert! Sheesh. Kajun
Got a space heater, in case you need to heat a crawlspace to protect the pipes? A heating pad can be used like heat tape to thaw or protect pipes as well.
You must be in the northern part of the state? I am around San Angelo and it is looking bad but not that bad on the forecast here...but bad enough I am now looking at a couple of weeks maybe around San Antonio and Corpus Christi before I head back west. In the meantime topping off the propane in the motorhome.
I don't think we've ever even interacted on here...one of the Monkeys of whom I really know nothing. Houston looks like an awfully big city for me...even Corpus is looking a bit scary. You know me, Medford is marginal.
Yea, I hear you.... He lives far out in the Burbs, in an RV Park... and if you pass, you will miss knowing "One Way Cool Dude"....
NW Arizona - Snow tonight 30% 27 for a low. Not as bad as first predicted. Low of 19 on Saturday. Live in SE Az but am at the BOL now 5000 - 5200 ft
Snow on the ground and still coming down at 31 right now. Forecast is for 25 tonight and 12 tomorrow night.
Fortunately, our place (in SE NM, btw) is built on a slab. We have propane heater if needed as well as a couple of fireplaces and a couple of camp stoves for cooking. We went through something a little bit worse than this a couple or 3 years ago and did ok. Only problem we had was our sprinkler system valve let go. Sprinkler guy came by, turned off the valve and came back when it warmed up. This year, I"m going to turn off that valve myself tomorrow. Merry Christmas, all. Kajun
I'm within 2 miles of the SC line, Landrum is the closest town and we're close to building a boat here.
Yeah, I don't live near the downtown area. I live near a small town named Magnolia. Houston is a rather large city. I prefer to stay out in the rural areas. I only go to town for work and some business.
The forecast keeps getting worse! BLIZZARD??? Are you freakin' kidding me????? In the desert SW!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Kajun
OK, spent today finishing up getting ready. We'll see how it goes. Here's tonight, about 8:20, 2 hours into the event.
