I'll bet the puppetmasters really hate Alex Jones and Matt Drudge http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...speculation-over-hollow-point-ammo-purchases/ Does the military use HPs for target practice or FMJs? Hmmmm....
I seem to recall, that the Geneva Convention, specifies that Military Small Arms Ammunition needs to be be FMJ... I don't recall Depleted Uranium being loaded in anything smaller than 50 Cal, but that is off the top of my head......
Ammo, what ammo ? Now they are redacting the numbers. http://www.alt-market.com/articles/985-ammo-what-ammo-dhs-now-redacting-purchases
Hague Conventions, but they will not matter, unless you can make a formal declaration of war and are a signatory. They will claim this is law enforcement, and cops are not required to use only FMJ I expect this to be more like Saddam Husseins dirty fight with the Kurds, only worse.
You are right of course.... DarkLight.... I get Geneva and Hague confused all the time.... Old Age I believe... at least, that is my story.....
The US abides by the Hague, but is not a signatory to it. FWIW: http://www.thegunzone.com/opentip-ammo.html
The military uses about 70,000 rounds per enemy soldier killed. 1.5 billion divided by 70,000 equals 21,429 They are going to need A LOT more
An opposing viewpoint (still doesn't explain need to train with HPs): http://www.gundigest.com/news/conspiracy-crowd-fearful-of-government-ammo-buys
I'm still trying to get a grip on the idea that the SSA has its own armed special agents... Seriously, the SSA?!?
Yea I got to see one at the local office here sitting in a chair by the door . I went there to make sure they had my Dad as deceased when he passed and to stop his SSI.
I suppose I can see where the fedgov would want its own people for security, rather than hiring an outside firm... At least he had a chair, reminds me of that "Seinfeld" episode...
Yea it made me do a double take when I saw him. Kinda startled me as I walked in I wasn't expecting to see that.
Cop are not covered by either convention. Hollow points have been the norm for the last 30 years that I have been an LEO. The funny thing is we all used cheaper ball "practice" ammo for training even if duty rounds were used for qualification. And most places I know qualify with practice ammo, it shoots the same.
LE agencies have selected hollow point because they fragment, supposedly reducing the chances of a thru and thru on a perp injuring a bystander. Not so sure that's a good thing to rely on after the Empire State Building exercise.
$1.10 to $1.30 per round is very expensive for practice, I guess it is a good thing for them that they don't have to pay for it.
I would make them PAY, $1.00US, for every round that misses the Perp..... and $2.00US PLUS Medical Bills, for each bystander hit.... There will be a lot of BROKE LEOs walking around.... No Coffee & Donut Money....
