I'm surprised that several divisions worth of evangelical and pentecostal protestant chaplains aren't in the ORBAT also. Many opportunities there for witnessing to papist heretics, all those Muslim extremists the President claims that are in the caravan, and the occasional godless fellow traveller.

 

Not necessarily so....but it IS a pejorative term quite frequently used by smug self righteous Protestants who are convinced that Roman Catholics aren't really Christians at all....and thus are worthy of proselytising to, in order that their immortal souls be saved from the lake of fire, through the arcane process of becoming 'born again', and joining True Christians (TM) In Jesus's name.

A Papist who is not a Catholic, would be a contradiction, but not all Catholics are Papists....given the number of Catholics who and The Pope, when it comes to issues such as contraception and various other socially regressive Papal encyclicals. Not all Catholics are convinced of the Pope's infallibility, or authority. Just as not all Christians accept the bible as the inerrant word of god...though It would be a strange creature who was a biblical inerrantist (Testaments Old and New) and also not a Christian.

 

I need to say that I have Hispanic friends and I know Hispanics who have become legal citizens. I have even written letters recommending someone for citizenship. But this horde headed to the border is too much, too many. We have such a homeless and hungry issue currently in the country that I do not think we need to be burdened with more folks that need a helping hand. I have nothing against my fellow humans but we just cannot help everyone, there has to be a time when we as a country can say enough.

I have been doing some reading. I am not on the front-line of this invasion but ranchers down south are. I fear the horde will spread out and just overwhelm the border patrol and troops down there. Many of the folks coming seem very angry, throwing stuff at Mexican police and tearing down fences. The ranchers on the border are going to have these people coming onto their land. That is a safety issue.

I'm not sure that the fascism that their Northern neighbour's warlord feudalism might devolve into, post SHTF might be any more attractive a place to seek refuge in. Neither socialist nor fascist regimes are particularly solicitous of the peons aspirations and well being, other than as a source of cheap exploitable labour.

 

If this horde can amass such numbers, and are willing to use violence - why not do this in their home country!? Take back their own land. Make their own nation better.

It's already winter here in new Mexico.
2 of the wind farms about 40 or 50 miles to my north have already gotten snow, north of I-40 got its first snow a week or 2 ago, which is very unusual.
It's shaping up to be a really bad winter.
If they take a month to get to the boarder they will get here just in time to die of exposure.

I have to wonder - just how loud it will get?
