I used to shoot .44 specials out of my .410 bolt-action Marlin when I was a kid.

It was Published years back ,I read it in highschool.
there was many calibers that was compatible as seen in the video. This book covered as to why they were posible as well. There are alot more calibers to use as a base besides the .410. I have Personally never fired a round in a rifle not designed for the chamber.

It looked to me like there was a lot of barrel vibration on that first .444 shot.

It would be interesting to see the accuracy at 25 yds.

I want one of these in spite of not being a big .410 fan. I see it as a survival grouse harvester that will go easy on the 125 lbs of chilled shot I have on tap

No damage to the gun that a 12 year old could tell. My father was the one that gave me the .44s and said they would shoot ok. Couldn't say much about the accuracy, only that they were watermelon accurate at 15 yards or so. Could well have been one of those "Hey ya'll, watch this!" moments that we are so fond of down here in the South.

I have a .45-70 double rifle that I am now going home to load with .410 shotshells and shoot.

While it's interesting and noteworthy, I don't ever plan to fire anything except what's made for my guns.

Then again...things don't always go as planned.;)

wonder how a .41 mag would do? closer to choke size anyway, and modded choke even closer

I have a H&R in .410 that can also fire .45 colts out of it. Pretty fun stuff. The gun was also designed to do this, I dont have to hold the rifle/shot gun with one hand and crossing fingers with the other :)

I think a .410 found for the right price with rifle sights added to it and a cylinder bore could be a great pack rifle/post SHTF gun.

Colt is apparently entering the .410 revolver game, after seeing Taurus' success with The Judge. Their offering looks a bit more 'standard' but for the longer cylinder, and will handle .410 shells, .45 Colt and .45 ACP using a sort of 'moon clip'. MSRP looked in the $800+ range. Google it up and check it out!
