Tried to make the title sound like a movie. Anyway, I deemed the pineapple ready to go to slaughter. And the custom koa Bowie that @Bear made would have the honors. I know it is overkill. But it was fun overkill. Tried to get a close up of the maker's mark. It showed better with a flash. Here she is all cleaned up, but in all her naked glory. Dressed her back up in her skin tight leather outfit and she went to bed.

Hey. I admitted mental illness is involved from the start. LOL... I'm sorta functional though. And new meds are helping.
First, you have to go to Hawaii, then you buy a Pineapple. No joke, pineapples you find in the US are grown, mostly, in SA, picked way too early and then shipped and man handled. Pineapples grown in Hawaii or picked when ripe and I never had a bad one. More PTB industrialization which caused a lot of good land in Hawaii go fallow.
They are all perfect. I remember once many years ago, was mountain biking with buddies. After we got off the trail, we cut through a pineapple field. Since we were out of water and it was really hot, we made an executive decision and snitched one pineapple. It wasn't very big and there were four of us. Busted out my handy pocket knife and we each had a quarter. Best pineapple ever. Freshly picked. It acted like a delicious energy drink until we were able to get more water. It wasn't a survival situation, but it made a huge difference.
LOL... @Tracy ... I walk out my front door... take a few steps... and pick one from the pots I have them growing in
Thanks, dear tropical friends. Potted pineapple. Lucky dog...er... bear! I can't even keep an avocado alive and producing in my little, cold slice of the world. I don't recall ever having a bad one, but just cut up the best one - ever! - the other day and wondered if I missed some fruit-cue or something that drew me to that particular one. Guess not. Must've been a lucky pick. Sorry for hijacking your uber-cool knife thread. I just love that there are so many instances here where I can just ask someone in-the-know about, well, anything! You're both wonderful - I appreciate you!
LOL @Tracy... you can grow them in your house like a bromeliad ... and just in case you thought I was kidding about the potted pineapples..... here's some pictures.... @Hanzo can see all the Hawiwi growing in the pots too Here you go... easy as heck to grow... go buy a pineapple... cut the top... eat the bottom... put the top in a pot with some soil... water and place in a sunny place... we've got big ones out of big pots... and little ones out of little pots... all were sweet and produced a wonderful pineapple smell when they were rip and ready to pick.... Give it a try.... Have a great Friday! Take Care and God Bless, Bear
We prepared a coconut shell for @Bear to use to test his blades on. The ants totally cleaned it over night.
