Typical.... All those in favor of stopping the Pipeline, How about we STOP Selling you Gasoline & Diesel Fuels.... Lets see how long you can survive this Winter without Fuel, and then come back and Tell the World how you did.... Hypocrites.....
Yes and no.
First one state politico is bought off by the rail road that hauls it and he opposes it due to "eminent domain" or the taking of private property for private use. On the other hand, he supports/ed that exact thing for other uses (stealing private land for the use of another private company). He was on the local "right wing" radio show and the politico was waffling and back pedaling for all he was worth, "let's deal with stealing private property for private use one rip off at a time! I mean am I getting something out of it or not?" Not exact but very close to what he actually said on the radio.
I OPPOSE the stealing of private land for the use of a private company! If I WANT to sell, no problem. If I DON'T that is (or should be!) MY RIGHT. Here's an idea, why don't they put it on the railroad right of way? That already cuts through the land and like "public money", doesn't "belong" to anyone, or at least private land owners.
Pretty much agree with the limitations that should be on eminent domain. I'm sure you are aware of the travesty in Connecticut a couple years ago. The other thing is that the RR rights of way are completely tasty from the standpoint of convenience for long haul anything, BUT the RR companies have pretty good legal protections in their charters. More's the pity.
That's about the most biased video that I have ever watched, if it doesn't go by pipe, then it will go by truck, which is more dangerous.... but they have to bring up that it is being sold to China... good that reduces our trade deficit, but as I understand it, that oil is Canada's oil, we make money by transporting it and refining it, Canada makes money by selling to China, or Europe, it's a global market place. I think there is still a moratorium against exporting US produced oil.. yes/no?
It is already being shipped by rail, so the wasting of gas to truck it is a red herring. Why not build a refinery just on the US side of the border (Seattle would work for me), refine it and give it back to Canada right there? Why pipe it 1500 miles, through the most productive farm land in the world, with all the risks of that?
Why not have the Canuks Pipe it to Nova Scotia, or Vanc.B.C.? Why the hell does it have to cross U.S. lands? and because it's Canadian Oil, and the company is Canadian, shouldn't there be profits for those who's land it resides on/under. This is nothing more then some Rich foreign Oil company buying up control and influence to press it's desires upon private land owners! Worse, the feds should be stopping this, but they are not! This violates all sorts of trade laws and personal property rights! Were are the courts? Were is the frickin State Gov'ner? Why has the National Guard not been called out to remove this "Private" operation and it's Bull Merc's?
"Madam President"? MADAM PRESIDENT"?! Used REPEATEDLY! Did Hitlery win the election or is Harry the traitor letting the cat out of the bag? Why is he so worried about Sioux Indians (why not the Little Shell?!) or, I don't know, a rancher in Nevada?!
Apparently the above Poster has little knowledge of the Protocols for speaking on the Floor of the US Senate... When he or she address's the Chair of the Senate (Which is where ALL Spoken Words are addressed) the speaker addresses the Chair as "Mr. President" or "Madam President" depend on the Sex of the Current occupant of the Chair... It has nothing to do with the President of the United States.... Good Grief, US History, Jr High School ....
It's Harry Reid, I wouldn't trust him if he said the sun rose in the east and set in the west. Also look into Jill Stein who "demanded" the recount and Harry's involvement with the recount. He might NOT have been addressing the Senate Chair.
It is Senate Protocol, that ALL Speach is addressed to the "Chair" .... Been that way as long as there has been a Senate, in the USA.... You might just take in some C-Span2 and learn something...
Harry Reid is not as stupid as he seems. He makes a LOT of mistakes of fact (we know people like that, including fat Moore) and judgment, but I don't think anyone will accuse him of paying fast and loose with Senate Chamber formalities.
