So you want to save your 'electronic tax files' on your hard drive but you are worried that someone might steal the computer or hack your machine and gain access to your sensitive personal information?

Why not hide it in plain site?

Here is a quick link to a quick overview and provides reasons of why someone might use such tools along with links to some simple to use tools and tips.
Lifehacker, tips and downloads for getting things done

Some links that you can use to study up on Steganography

You can go seriously overboard and encrypt your entire hard drive with internal encrypted hidden folders that contain files with embedded hidden files.

    Links to other available tools.

Just remember that even the most determined individual / company or government entity given enough time and money can get at your secrets.

passwords are easy. can you say water boarding? so remember to have 2 passwords, one to get them to some 'secret stuff' that will convince them that you have broken and one for the really important stuff. Kind of like the lizard that drops it's tail

We used to play steganography games here in '05.
I've always thought the best method for hiding important files was to have a folder or flash drive with 5000 jpg images - with one being a stega file.
