Long term "temporary storage" is literally the worst idea anyone could have come up with.
There wasn't a problem until was created by politicians and nimby useful idiots.

Correct me if I am wrong there were a few companies that built commercial reactors and each had their own design and even changed the design on where it was built.

So let's build them in the ocean where they can never melt down?

Let it melt down. The radiation isn't the problem. Watch the video I linked.

    Everything is a damn lie.

    Several problems exist with energy.
1.Greed in those that see a buck in it.
    2. laziness on those that will pay anything for it.
    3. those that worship the environment.
    4. those that abuse the environment.
IMO, animals will always interfere with technology, they run and fly in front of me every time I go down the road like a proof of bravery. They do it with each other as well, so man has nothing to do with it.
Mills work both in and above water, the challenge is debris. We have the materials to build that with stand the elements.
Along with photovoltaic, thermal solar is available as well, but it takes building for it by design to start with.
People themselves need to THINK and DO for the future, not wait for others to make the changes.
I'm not that smart and I built a lot of both solar values, that cost very little, and off grid, to this day. The key to my success is that I was willing to invest and experiment and make mistakes.
People that laugh at me are paying $300.+ a month for electricity and I pay nothing, for the last 50+ years.

I had a friend that got a serious radiation burn with a test sample in his pocket.
Just because some one calls it a lie doesn't make it so,
People get in the system telling lies like flat earthers and gain a fallowing saying the NASA is lying but the fact of the matter is history is a lot older than the lies,
