Freedom is a two way street. Just as I demand others to respect my right to carry while on public property, I in turn respect their right to dictate the rules while on their own private property. I think being armed on private property where the owner prohibits firearms is called criminal trespass.

And it depends on how the laws, statutes, codes or rules for your jurisdiction are written. As some have already said in this thread, the signs do not have "the force of law" and as long as you leave if and when they ask you to, there is no criminal conduct and no crime committed. If you don't leave it becomes trespass and then you've committed a crime.

Where I live, however, signs DO have the force of law and it is immediately criminal trespass if you are caught. They don't have to ask you to leave our notify you in any way, they call the police and the next thing you know you're being escorted to the back of a car in handcuffs (if you aren't gunned down and wheeled out in a body bag) and if convicted, and you will be, you lose your carry permit. It's either a misdemeanor or a felony depending on the specific location and if it's a felony you lose your right to keep and bear arms, permanently.

That is why there are a number of businesses I will not patronize, period. There have been dozens of times, for example, that folks from work wanted to go to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch and they went without me. I refuse to give them my money.

Costco is an odd duck though because while it is a "corporate policy", the building does NOT have a sign and I have a copy of my membership form, the only one I've signed, that does NOT address carrying in their stores.

I agree because most everything can be a weapon you just have to see it as such.

How comfortable are you around weapons, and others with weapons.
I have a friend that, though he is a landscaping contractor does not carry a simple pocket knife, though he has a few. I might add to that said person had been a MP in the service . He just does't like carrying a knife.
When I see others with guns or knives it doesn't bother me ,largely because I have my own.
I have, at the request of management, put my visible knife in my bag , but that are not concerned about me, because they know me, but for the sake of other patrons that don't know me, and I respect that.
Though a family might be superficially on line with defensive armory, not every one has the will to take necessary action . how is this going to be dealt with ?
Will you require your children to take up arms and defend the family ?
    What age ?
    Is an one exempt ?
Should any one be exempt ?
