I would like to trade 1 GB of DDR2 (DDR2-667MHz-CL5, PC2-5300S-555-12-A1), this is 2 pieces of 512MB. I need DDR ram for another laptop. Thanks
I thought that system had 1.25 GB (1280 MB) installed: 1 256 MB stick 1 1 GB stick If you wanted to increase it to 2 GB, I think you'll need an additional 1 GB Stick to replace the 256 MB stick
I'll double check when i get home, but i thought I only saw 2 256Mb sticks. It was a long weekend for me, I may have looked at the same stick twice.
You can check the installed amount a few different ways rather than opening the case: From terminal: Code: top - or you can try: Or you can open System Monitor. I like top - the best as it gives you Total RAM, used RAM and some other cpu stats. Here's top on another system with 4 GB: which shows 4056 MB total with 3781 MB in use
Well what'cha know, it does have a 1GB & a 256Mb, I'd still be willing to swap the 1Gb (2 512MB cards) DDR2 for a 1GB DDR chip.
I have got 2 512Mb memory sticks from a sony viao who's MB crapped out. MB fix was more than getting a new unit. stick reads 2Rx16 pc2-4200S-444-12. One is the original Hynix the other was an add-on Edge Tech Corp. Give me a mailing address and it goes out tomorrow. Try them first to see if they work for you. if they do, Send me the desktop memory. If not, Pay-it-forward. Andy Actually after reading the posts I see you are looking for single 1gb stick. Anyway, anyone who sends me a mailing address (first dibs to kckndrgn) , I'll mail them (the two 512 MB laptop memory modules) out.
Thanks, but yeah, I need one 1GB stick as i already have a 1GB and want to upgrade to a total of 2 GB.
