NO thank you! I'll stick to either trot lines and fish heads etc. on treble hooks, or by "snagging" by "dragging"!
I use to do that on week ends for fun and they taste good to. I,ve caught or dragged out snakes, catfish, muskrats and a cowboy boot once lol. To old for that foolishness now i know better but in a need food thing i,d dive right back in.
My uncle bob used to hog snappers in central illinois back in the 60's-80's. the man had a hole in the palm of his right hand from hawging a 75 lb. snapper out of lake bloomington.. He would make turtle stew(great eating). then make great stuff out of the shells, even the deer he killed he'd butcher the meat himself and tan the hides and make stuff out of them...............
My Uncle use to do that. I wanted him to teach me but he had stopped doing it by hand and had went to using jugs. BWM
