I've never seen either a Strider or an Emerson folder in person so I cannot comment. I will however, take it that they are good (especially the Striders - okay I like the look of them). On that note bear, I'll have to say I would trust my Snody for a good rock solid folder. Now would I use it? Probably not....mostly because I'd be too dang scared to now that I know what the dang thing originally cost. Melbo, wish you luck and hope you win.

Snody's are great knives as well.... I've got a Strider AR folder that's a user.... I sent it to Valkman to play with for a while.... its a big knife.... bigger than the SNGs..... I like those as well..... if you ever want to play with and abuse a "user".... let me know.... oh and ... you have to promise to send it back....
Bear, I thought that was a GB, and it was cool to carry it! That thing is a monster! T, I bought 2 Emerson folders at Blade and only carry one, so if you want I'll send one back for you to check out for a while.
bear & Valkman...thank you both for the offer. However, that goes against my superstition about knives. Sorry, but there it is and it would be bad karma. I've got enough bad karma in my life - I truly don't need to bring any intentionally into my life. I intend to purchase for myself in time both an Emerson (once I decide what I'm looking for - that's always the hard part) and a Strider. Until then I can always look at the pictures which is enough for me. But you guys are both to be commended for your offers.
