I never saw one. I think I was near one one night when I was going for a walk with my A/N-PVS-14. A dog was barking a mile or more away and I thought he was probably barking at me. I was more than halfway up a rock-step trail to the top of a mountain and I heard a big, heavy rock getting picked up... but never put down. I turned around and went back down the trail. The dog was still barking in the distance. When I got home I contemplated what may have happened.
If you're down here in Florida, don't go shooting any of our Skunk Apes. It might be my Uncle or Cousin.
The one time I went for a night walk I saw a bullfrog the size of a serving platter. I never saw him before or since. Where does he go during the day? I usually go to the top of the mountain (not a high mountain, I'm in the East) and sit on a rock outcropping facing the south. With the PVS-14's on I can see 10 times more stars; it's beautiful.
Never seen one and don't know anyone who claims to have seen one. 10 family members and 2 friends have seen black panthers, killed one, 2 peppered with a shotgun's All in the same parish the end.
