I just came across this on the general web, and it has been awhile since I have had a serious case of "Gun Acquisition Syndrome". Well I never would have thought that Colt Industries would ever be so innovative. What Colt has done is to take a .308 based AR and made it modular to accept any milspec .223 upper receiver. I would also guess that any 22lr uppers would also fit. Colt is calling this the CM901 rifle. The only draw back so far is that the 308 mags are proprietary and will not accept the standard AR10 pattern magazines.
