Funny little story of the start (or continuation) of my day After the 4th all night work sessions in a row (power naps are the only thing that are keeping me semi-upright for the present time) I put my head down on my desk about 5am and was awakened around 7:30 (okay, a long power nap) with 2 uniformed police officers standing over me. My first thought was "Damn, the snore and drool police" but nothing so dire. Apparently, one of our phones lines was the source of a 911 hangup call. What a delightful way to start the day. After escorting the two officers to all our buildings, they confirmed that no one was being held hostage. Apparently someone had spilled some cola on one of the phones yesterday, it dried and made the buttons stuck so when someone tried to call out on that phone this morning, he kept punching the buttons until they loosened up.
Thanks for making me laugh. My cold is driving me crazy. Pressure behind the eyes, runny nose, cough, loss of voice ..... all that and more. Anyone who knows me would know right away how bad it is, my appetite is blah, and I just turned down a dinner invite. A laugh is precious about now.
So you are using your coffee cup as a pillow once again ehh... Good thing you were not drooling to much.... that may be a felony on the East coast
The picture was hilarious - two crew cut young officers in fresh crisp uniforms looking down at this gray haired woman who has been showering only the company shower for the past week and living out of my BOB, hair looking much like a medusa, puffy eyes, a mouth so dry my tongue was sticking to my pallet trying to form intelligent answers to their very serious questions. Before we went into the first shop, I had to point at the safety glasses we keep out for visitors, doing a little pantomime skit til they got the message. They lightened up after a while and I stopped for a long drink of water so we were finally able to communicate in a language we both seemed to understand. I can only imagine the story they told their fellow officers over coffee today.
That is just plain funny!! Snore and drool police!! Should have asked if he'd brought coffee and donuts!!
