This post is more about @Bear than the Bear blades. Bear is such a kind and generous man! I did something for him that took less than a little effort on my part and no time at all. So today, my friend buys me lunch and gifts me with those two beauts or brutes, depending on how you look at it. They are as splendid as you would expect Bear's blades to be. And so sharp I almost cut myself just looking at them. As awesome as the blades are, they are as nothing compared to the person I am proud to call my friend. The best part of the blades... Got some Bear in them. Thanks buddy!!
Took longer to figure the angle of the thicker chisel grind. My first time with this blade geometry. Not my best work. Have an easier time with a more familiar blade. This one is a scandivex.
I'm still learning the ways of this style blade. So smooth and sharp that you can be cut and will not know it till the blood splatter hits the floor.. I have started a Copper Sheath project for that reason. The copper may be a liner or may end up being the complete sheath or maybe one of each. Wicked sharp this blade is.
Coconut break! Fruit is awesome for the afternoon doldrums. And monkey asked me to open her coconut. Looks like a job for an @Bear blade. Today, I chose the wickedly sharp chisel grind knife. Normally, I tear the husk off. Today, I sliced the husk off. Easy with a sharp blade. The weight of the blade also made coconut opening a snap. One tap with the spine was all it took.
First off please forgive me for i am new here. Where do yall get these bear blades? They look like very nice blades.
Sorry, I did not see your reply until now. You can contact @Bear. He is an amazing blacksmith, as you can see by his work. And an even better person, as you can see by how everyone thinks and speaks of him. And by his own actions.
