saturday morning tv memories 1964-1976 - Bing video

34 minutes of old cartoon and advertising clips. I could only watch it 10 minutes at a time, but I could recite most of the older advertising jingles and cartoon introductions.

Some shows, like H.R. Pufnstuf I remember, but didn't watch... unless I had to. The girl next door had a huge crush on Jimmy from that show, and made me watch it with her before she would go on a bike ride with me. That was probably 1970.

Newer cartoons I found too bright and silly for my twelve year old tastes. I had trap lines to check, fish to catch, and sledding hills to try in the morning when these shows were on anyway.

I watched this as well . I think Tac recommended . It was pretty good. I did not expect the ending like that , but I have no doubt that is how the Feds operate.

 

Local news NBC affiliate channel 6. The way they schedule the programs I can watch ABC local channel 8, when 6 is done.

 

Back on the Oak Island saga

 

I'd never thought about this. I've addressed auditoriums full of Marines and never had the feeling that they weren't paying attention. My favorite attention gainer was to tell a story. "Close your eyes and imagine you've been separated from your convoy, and your vehicle has run out of fuel..." (and while that's burrowing into their imagination...) ...I'd be lighting a fuse, pushing a plunger, raising a great big heavy book or a hammer, and.... BANG! I'd instantly have their full attention, and could set the hook about why they were dead, and how I would teach them to avoid that.
